What you can do

DC ACTION

Join this week's The People's Filibuster to Stop Trumpcare with Move On, Planned Parenthood, SEIU, Women's March and many more, at the United States Capitol to stop the Republican effort to take away our health care. Senate Majority Leader McConnell wants to vote this week, but if just 3 Republicans reject Trumpcare, it can't pass. Let’s send a loud message to the Senate that we want them to stand with us and vote AGAINST the Republican bill to take health care from tens of millions of Americans.

Tuesday, June 27, 2-7pm - NE side of Capitol on the lawn
Wednesday, June 28, 8am-2pm - SE side of Capitol on the lawn
Wednesday, June 28, 5pm - Hug the Senate - human chain surrounding the Capitol, SE side of Capitol on the lawn
Thursday, June 29, 3-7pm - SE side of Capitol on the lawn

If you can't be at the Capitol you can watch via #MoveOn's Facebook Live.

NEW YORK ACTION

The NY State Senate closed the 2017 legislative session last week without bringing our progressive bills up for a vote. Let them know how unhappy you are with the do-nothing legislative session that just ended. Flanagan ended with this comment: "If the people's business isn't done in any way, shape or form-we will come back". Call and tell them you want S2950 Early Voting, S2788 ePoll Books, S4840 the New York Health Act and the Reproductive Health Act to get a vote when the Legislature comes back into special session.

Governor Cuomo: 518-474-8390 (press 2)
Majority Leader Flanagan: 518-455-2071

CALIFORNIA ACTION

California has already passed Single-Payer in the Senate, now it just needs a vote in the Assembly, but Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon shelved it and won't bring it for a vote. Call California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon at (916) 319-2063 and tell him you oppose this action!

“The people of California are counting on the Legislature to protect them now, not sometime next year, and as polls have shown Californians support this proposal by a wide majority. A solution to this healthcare emergency could be at hand; Speaker Rendon is standing in opposition. At the very least we deserve to know where our reps stand on this issue. Please bring it to the floor for a vote.”
