Dreamers Here and Now
As you know, Trump rescinded the Dream Act (DACA), a pivotal bill which protected young immigrants who were brought into the US illegally, from deportation. The end of DACA by March 2018, leaves the lives of 800,000 people at risk, many of whom have never known another home outside of this country.
While there is a 6 month delay in order for Congress to enact immigration legislation to protect the current Dreamers, make no mistake, this is a political manipulation. Congress has been trying to pass an immigration policy to protect young illegal immigrants for the past 16 years without success! DACA only exists currently due to an executive order under Obama.
DACA is morally right, legally sound and fiscally smart policy. If you need proof of that, just read one of the many articles on Dreamers, 9 out of 10 of whom are working taxpayers, with spotless records, and who are not taking jobs away from other Americans, as sound-bites like to indicate.
What do we do now? See below.
What you can do1. CALL + TWEET at these Republicans to not just talk the talk but walk the walk when it comes to protecting Dreamers. They have all issued sentiments sympathetic to Dreamers - hold them to it legislatively.

2. Text RESIST to 50409 to send a message to your own Rep and tell them to stand up for Dreamers.

I am calling to ask Sen/Rep ____ to stand up for Dreamers and protect the current and future dreamers from deportation by passing a real Dream Act in congress. We are a country founded by immigrants and that is the story that makes us all Americans. DACA is a morally right, legally sound, and fiscally smart policy. Anyone who has seen the facts and figures on immigration knows that. I advise you to act accordingly.
